In two weeks we will be at Bonnett Creek Resort near Orlando.
On Friday the 22nd of March we will be attending a spring trainng game at the Blue Jays facility in Dunedin. Thinking that as we will be on the coast, a nice seafood meal may be a possibility. Perhaps, there is a good place in Orlando?
Looking for a local's recommendation.
Thanks.

We are in Venice a bit farther south than Dunedin. Route 4 is a killer give yourself plenty of time. If you were near Tampa / Sarasota I could set you up. Make sure it’s local / gulf seafood. Grouper cheeks for the win.

There used to be 2 Boston Lobster Pots in Orlando. All you can eat buffets. They are pricey so hold onto you backside when they tell you how much. Skip the salad and potatoes and go right to the clams and oysters.

Thanks Dirt, that backs up a search I did which indicated that the Old Bay Cafe was at the top of the list, 4.5 stars. We've gone over to Clearwater Beach and eaten at Frenchie's Rockaway Grill twice. I found it OK, but it didn't wow me. I mean I can't get a grouper sandwich in Calgary, but the food was not something to die for. Best seafood I've ever had was at Eric's Seafood in Kihei on Maui, in 1994 on our honeymoon. Kicked Mama's Seafood's ass, although the scenery at Mama's was better, IIRC Eric's was above the Denny's. We went to Eric's twice. On the second visit the restaurant was quite subdued. Turned out that Eric had been killed in a car accident the night before. Back then the highway between Kehei and Lahaina was only two lane and people would try risky passes of slower traffic. Glad to see that the road is twinned now. Eric's no longer exists to my knowledge, understandable as he was killed. The food was to die for. Also, for the person who mentioned highway 4. We've been over to the Tampa area twice. Highway 4 can be high volume and much slower than you think. We now know to budget at least 2 hours to get where we want to go. It's a 1PM gametime, Toronto at home against the Boston Redsox. Figure to have a nice seafood meal after the game, while we are on the coast.

You're welcome, AB. When I was a lad, I worked at the Cardinals games in St Pete. They've since moved up to Jupiter.
Should be a good game!
Suggest you try the Shrimp Corn Chowder at Olde Bay Cafe.

High Tide Harry's in Orlando not too damn bad for a trendy type place.
But Lombardi's seafood market is the bomb. The big one on Fairbanks Ave. A market with all the raw, fresh offerings in glass front coolers, about 20-30 feet of them. But they'll cook it for you & have a few tables a have drinks. Sad part is the are only open 10am-6pm.
