I'm thinking of taking my teenage daughter to the Gem & Mineral show for couple of days next February and looking for some budget options to do it. We would be flying in from NC. Anyone have an empty bunkhouse available?

Budget and the Gem show don't really go hand in hand. It is a huge event and many hotels will already be booked.

Airbnb might get lucky?

Outside tucson as well...but you would have to drive in...

Eta: I would be searching and booking now for next year.

I prefer VRBO to BnB, but many folks use either one.

VRBO books stand-alone places only. BnB sometimes puts you in a back room along with the owner family.

Sure VRBO works as well.

To the OP: think of the Tucson Gem Show as the superbowl...you will pay accordingly due to the massive influx of dealers, tourists, etc.

If you have not been before, prepare to go into a lot of hotel rooms. Dealers book the more affordable hotels across town in their "area" to show and sell their merchandise.

Great time though.

Pro Tip When you ask where something is in Tucson, especially around the Gem Show, ie hey where is the nearest grocery store? Make sure you include the words That's not in Gangland!
