Santa delivered a couple boxes of 20 for my son (Thanks Dean!) and they will be used in a Franchi 48 with a fixed modified choke. There was also a box of 3" #9 for my 12 gauge.

Ive never used TSS, I usually use as tight of a choke as possible with other turkey loads. What is the recommended choke for a 12?

If it is a fixed modified it prolly won't reach its full potential, but it should still do well out to 50 or so. Only way to know is to shoot a few. I shoot 2 3/4 12 gauge with 1 5/8 oz of 8.5 TSS with a .660 choke and it shoots fantastic out to 75.

When I shot TSS through my 11-87 sps-t, the factory full choke produced a great huntable pattern at 40 yds. There was no need to buy other chokes. But as turkey hunters go, I did. Indian Creek, SumToy, Carlsons all produced slightly better patterns.

I no longer hunt with any of my 12ga's. After seeing what TSS can do w the smaller Ga's. All my 20's have either a .555 IC or the 562-5 SumToy.

save your money and just shoot Longboard in a 12 gauge... TSS is nice in tiny guns but overkill in a 12. Kind of like shooting a deer with a .458 Win Mag....
