Awesome.....absolutely stellar work.
I am 1/4 of the way there LOL... Me too. Several times doesn't count tho. Especially if they are dinks. (sigh!). One does what one can. I agree - that Stone and the picture, are outstanding!

You might just have to get some new hunting boots with velcro if you anticipate problems with your laces. Then you'll be able to go after Altai argali, Gobi argali and Marco Polo rams to add to your wonderful collection.

Nice. At one time I was interested in trying for the Grand Slam. I have a stone and a bighorn but after going to Africa my interests changed from sheep to the spiral horn antelopes. Back when I was interested in sheep the desert was the hard part. Tags in the USA have always been limited and MX wasn't doing the hunts like they are now. If you want the slam these days you can simply stroke a check for any of them if you have deep enough pockets but that wasn't the case in the late 70s.
You get out of life what you are willing to accept. If you ain't happy, do something about it!

Last week I killed a free range Sonora Desert Bighorn sheep that completed my Grand Slam of North American Wild Sheep (#2301). I killed my Dall ram in the Yukon Territory in 1984. I solo scouted for 24 days and hunted two days for my Bighorn ram in Idaho's desolate Owyhee River in 2014. I backpacked August 2023 in the Cassiar Mountains of northern British Columbia for my Stone ram. It's always been more of a dream than a goal for me. I've been a western mountain hunter since I was 18 years old. I guided and outfitted in Wyoming for 27 years. It took 40 years since I pulled the trigger on my first ram to get my fourth ram for the Slam. This was also the 86th sheep hunt that I have either guided or personally hunted. Being now 67, I hope to have some more seasons left before I can't any longer lace up my boots. Then on to international sheep and goat as well, super, and still at in your late 60’s as well, that is admirable, those Mrs get steeper and taller every year, don’t they? Fellow Wyoming sheep hunter here. Completed my slam in 95 , grand slam #637. I was particularly proud, that as blue collr worker ( oil patch) I was ble to get it done before cost really escalated. First ram, at age of 40, dall 1762/8 BC, self guided chugach range Ak. Drew Nevada desert in 92, biggest event of my life, Stone in BC 93, and finally bighorn Alberta. Last sheep bighorn here in Wyoming, self guided, in 99. Last sheep hunt , have pulmonary fibrosis, at age of 85, sheep hunting days are done, miss it but with no regrets. Costs have gone thru the roof, haven’t they? I heard one of the bid tags at sheep show went for over 800k, can that be true? Congrats and keep climbing the mtns
