I have a Kimber Hunter 84L, great shooting gun but I just can't get excited about the stock or the clip magazine. Feels like the gap between the Hunter and the Montana isn't as wide as the price has become, but perhaps its worth it. I don't see any offerings for replacement stocks out there. Am I missing something? Is restocking this rifle an economic option and if so where does one go?

I've never been impressed with that flimsy stock, it felt like the cheapest of cheap. At $900 plus an aftermarket stock you're looking at $1400.
I don't own one Kimber, not that I wouldn't but not my choice.
I have several Mcmillians on my Tikkas, much better choice.

Look up Pendleton Stocks in Oregon. Wayne will make a stock. I had one, decent stock but had more drop at the comb than I liked.

I never once handled a Tikka that made me want to ever handle another. YMMV

Will Pendleton or Outkast makes stocks for the Hunters? Inletting for the detachable magazine and latch while simultaneously needing to inlet the stock for a Montana trigger guard (since the Hunter's tg is molded into the stock) might complicate matters. Getting the latch assembly right especially.

I have 4 Kimber Hunters, all 84Ms, in 22 CM, 243, 6.5 CM, and 308. While I'm not a fan of detachable magazines on bolt or lever action rifles, the Kimber Hunter magazines that I have, 2 for each rifle, feed fine and stay locked into place. I've removed the gel and filled the stocks with expanding foam, which seem like an easy, cheap, and worth while way to cut 1/2 pound from the package for less than $10 and maybe 90 minutes of your time the first time that you do it.

After pricing hydro-dipping, I ended up buying replacement factory stocks in Desolve Blak to replace the basic tan stocks. Kimber is, or at least was a few month ago, selling the 84M Desolve Blak stocks for $185. I sent an email to them inquiring about purchasing a replacement stock and they replied that if I called them at 888-243-4522 and ordered part number 1803158, I'd get a Pro Desolve Blak 84M Hunter stock shipped to me for $185. A few days later I received a box from Kimber. Other than removing the gel and installing the expanding foam, I also had to install QD sling studs, as the stocks that Kimber shipped to me didn't come with them, so figure another $10 for those parts.

I had Mel Forbes do the basic CLR upgrade for my primary elk hunting rifle, a CLR in 270, for between $900 and $1,000 when he did that work. I like the stock, but I have other CLRs and don't know that I like the NULA stock enough more than the factory stocks to do it again. It is lighter and stiffer, but is it enough different to justify the expense? I look at the Kimber stock upgrade the same way, lighter and stiffer, but enough different to nearly double the cost of the package? Maybe for others, but probably not for me. That said, since the stock is the interface between the shooter and the long gun, having the right fit is critical to whether the shooter will like the gun and whether he/she will shoot it well. Each of us is different, so that which works great for me might be a poor choice for may others. Remeber, as with many things, YMMV.
