My Dad’s youngest brother learned how to be a watchmaker after he retired from the USMC as a Lt Col. He took lessons from an old German in Memphis and accumulated his tools. He was called upon by jewelry stores in the state for appraisals and repairs. He gifted me a gold watch from Williamson WV. Our last name is Williamson and I treasure it. I also have the fob and chain to accompany it and wear on special occasions and events. Sadly, he has passed and I miss him. We would visit junk and antique shops to search for future projects. He also had a Crosby car (the circus car that the clowns piled in). I found a brand new engine (army surplus) for $25 . He was delighted. He was a big man - 6’4” and did 3 tours of duty as a line company officer and saw combat.
