Curious what your experience has been.

It seems that fighting arthritis and stiffness in dogs once it begins becomes a losing game.

The side effects are disconcerting to say the least. Got 2 dogs (coming 10 and 8) that have limps. No clear IA diagnosis. One has been x rayed, result inconclusive.

They get daily unleashed ~2 mile walks, which means 2X or 3X the mileage for the dogs.

Looking to make them more comfortable to accompany summer horseback rides.

I put my 10 year old Mal on it about 4 months ago, the results are amazing. She had started climbing instead of jumping on her couch or recliner. About 2 days after the nitial injection she was acting like her old high energy self. They claim that it lasts about a month, but it seems to start wearing off a few day# less than that. It’s fairly expensive, but what the heck, she is my best friend! If there is any bad side effects, I haven’t noticed them.

Our 9 yr old Springer has been on gabapentin and carprofen for 9 months due to what was originally diagnosed as bone cancer. He's doing well on that - better than they expected. Our old-school vet has mentioned librela, and is very positive about it, but feels it's more of a last-ditch solution. He advised us to keep doing what we're doing unless it stops working for him.

Glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM was developed to help dogs with arthritis. It works. And it is cheap.

Cartilage between the bones is made of gelatine. Arthritis causes the cartilage to deteriorate. Buy some gelatine and sprinkle it a tablespoon on the dog's food every day. This will rebuild the cartilage. You can get it on Amazon:
