And I like my damned green cabbage.

DENSE heavy heads. Old crop. Not that light and airy crap.

I like it quartered, stem intact so it doesn’t all blow apart, and cooked perfectly so that you can jusssst push a fork edge down through the quarter. Like a wedge of really dense pie.

And then I fart myself into sublime oblivion, and all is right, in the world, in that moment.

Should be good.


The generic is often more money.

The corned beef turned out beautifully - tender, delicious, flavourful. My only mistake was not making more!

Did ours yesterday in the crock pot. Beef is from our neighbors cattle. About 9 hours. Vegies cooked on the side, cabbage and taters from my garden last season, carrot was store bought. Soda bread is homemade. The butchers they used for the quarter beef I bought did a great job with the corning spices, wife agreed it was way better and much less salty than any store bought version.
