Absolutely an "almost fully mature, but not quite, Bald Eagle." Check the tail feathers visible in the top right photo. Lucky he saw it , I was fishing an eddy in the river one time , casting into pool under a huge sycamore. ExWife was in the lounge chair about six feet behind me . There was a stob sticking out about 30 ft off the ground , about 6’ long and maybe 18” in diameter All at once I realized the tree was falling toward us , I yelled run She went one way and I the other Huge crash and when I turned around the stob was sticking in the ground about two feet supporting most of the weight of the tree About a foot from the cooler that was about another foot from the longe chair she had been setting in We were tripping our asses off when this happened , talk about a MFer of a rush Kenneth

Good sleuthing, my Gold Winged friend. We were obviously searching at the same time. The background sure looks a lot more like Canada than Brownsville!
But nonetheless, that bird is an almost fully mature Bald Eagle. The head isn't quite fully white, but close.
