The reason I ask is because I ordered a Kidd ULW .22 barrel last week and the tracking seems off…no departure time from San Antonio… only a “in transit”… I was actually thinking it should have been out for delivery today, because it was showing “ in transit” yesterday morning and in comparison to other stuff I’ve ordered recently it looks to me like they’ve made a change in their tracking site…FWIW, it’s priority mail.

I have always used this tracking website. It isn't perfect, but it beats the Postal Orifice. LINK

I've seen other comment on the tracking for USPS having issues today. Might be a system thing.

Well, right now you're going to get a "service not available, try again later message".

In transit means being shipped, out for delivery means it's arrived and carrier has it in his delivery truck.
USPS site will have it as one of these, in transit, arrived, out for delivery.

If you register with them, you can get a little more tracking info, but not a lot more. They scan it when it's put on a truck or plane and nothing else will show until it's scanned again at a processing center or destination. If it's in a container or mail bag, it won't get scanned until it reaches the next place where it's opened.

All shipping has changed for me. I get emails saying that it shipped, when actually a label was created. Then various things happen. Picked up, scanned in, departed here arrived there. USPS, FedEx, Amazon. All the same.

Ha! Mailed a "certified" letter with funds to a fire member for some items. Left town march 04, never to be seen again....
In transit arriving late. In other words lost.

Mailed a pistol barrel on Monday. Mail carrier picked it up at 11:20 a.m. Headed to WI from MI. 20 minutes later, it showed delivered in the same city of origin. No further updates until today, then the buyer emailed and said he got it. Went back on tracking and nada for tracking. Still says it was delivered in my city. I should file a damn insurance claim and see what they come up with.

Mailed a 22 rifle a week ago Monday. Only scan says "USPS in possession of package" when I took it to the pist orfice. No further updates. Shows expected delivery next Wednesday in Anchorage. At least there is record the USPS had it, if a claim is needed.

Well, it’s still “on time” and “processing through system”… the only problem is that it was supposedly scanned in Springfield Ma. earlier this morning and I’m on the other side of the country… I emailed “Kidd” this morning and they replied that they’d notify the P.O. 😵‍💫
I’m still not convinced it’s a P.O. problem and not a shipping error, because it took them 10 days to get it in the mail and that was after I sent them a email asking for an estimated date on shipping… kinda frustrating because the barrel is the last piece I need to complete the rifle.
