Any delicate way to bring up to someone, when they owe you money?
My whole life, if I've owed someone something I've paid up or been in clear communication on what's going on.
Been screwed over a handful of times, lost a few friends, etc. because of people that don't pay up or pay back.
Always feel like the a$$hole when I've had to bring it up, when in reality it should be the other way around.
Most recently a friend owes me a decent chunk of change over something we bought together. Probably three weeks ago, I heard I've already cut the check. It's not because he's broke, but I'd just assume not have to ask.

There's no "easy way" to ask to be repaid. If he's a true friend he shouldn't get mad that you want your money back. My suggestion is just ask and see how it plays out from there.

Just ask him. He might have just forgotten. If he’s a real friend, he won’t get butt hurt!

I usually only "loan" people I don't like $20. They go away.

If you feel like you need to ask then it doesn't read like a friendship to me.

Unless it's a big enough sum to affect your bottom line, just write it off. Don't get taken again. "Screw me once, shame on you- - - -screw me twice, shame on me!" That goes double for kids and family members.

If you lend someone $20 and you never see them again, it was probably worth it!

I have found that loaning money to people is a good way to not see them often.

You have every right to ask...
We keep a couple of cars to loan out to folks (hard times... their car/truck is in the shop... kinda thing).
Loaned one out for "a couple of weeks"... 7 months ago... Finally got it back a month ago... AFTER PRESSING THE TOPIC FOR A MONTH.
Don't be impressed... the loaners ain't top notch... just reliable beaters.
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

God's laws make no impression on the majority these days. If you loan someone something, unless you have a legally binding contract, then its a gift.

Just ask him in the same way you'd like to be asked if something like this had slipped your mind. If he get pissy, then it's on him. Then be firm but reasonable.

Maybe I just have a great memory but the very few times I owed a friend money it never slipped my mind. I couldn’t get it paid back fast enough. I cant recall ever borrowing money outright from a friend. It was always something they paid for that they had access to that I didn't.
