Those that resent us Boomers because we are getting our SS and don’t think it will be there for you had better start saving up and investing. Plan for the worst and hope for the best.

Not too long after we got married, my wife and I came to the conclusion that SS probably wasn’t going to be around for us either and made sure we’d be ok with or without SS…

New legislation passed for the following SS “option”:

Big Jim (random name) knows he will have to pay a total of $5,000 in SS in 2024. If over the course of 2024, he makes a total of $5,000 in 401k or some such , (IRA) , he gets his SS deductions back.

It might not work if most everyone started doing that. Honestly, you’d be an idiot not to since you’ll get a good ROR compared to the current SS system.

I've watched your smartassery here for years and am not impressed. You've left me alone so I've left you alone. You posted a smartass comment to me first in this thread. You brought my reply on yourself. It has been my experience that the smartass types almost always cause problems on the job that leads to themselves and those around them getting less done than would be the case without them. I usually got rid of them fairly quickly.
