My wife has a Walther PPK/S .380 that has "Kentucky State Police" on the right side of the slide. She's considering selling it to purchase something that is easier for her to shoot. Just looking for price range . My nephew has offered to take it to the Wannamaker but we have no clue what it's worth ? Will try to figure out to post some pic's.
Thanks !

I didn't know Kentucky state police even carried a PPKS. Must have been a detective or office staff gun. I can't see it being worth any more than any other used PPKS. $350-450

Just a PSA for anyone looking for the overpriced PPK POS, the new Bersa TPR 380 is better than any PPK and probably better than most name brand pistolas.

The PPK/S was and is an abomination of parts brought about by the GCA of 68. The PPK didnt meet import specs, so they mated a PP frame to a PPK barrel and slide which added weight and 1 round capicity. Until S&W made the PPK under license here in the states, all imports of the PPK and variants were banned.

Inter arms of VA, or S&W(?) as manufacturer? Interarms It is pretty old then. A lot of them wound up with eroded chambers that made the brass bulge. Not great for reloading, but noone will notice that at a gun show which is probably your best bet. But one of the show regulars will probably chime in.

Inter arms of VA, or S&W(?) as manufacturer? Interarms Interarms made no pistols, they imported them from Germany if it states Made in Germany on the pistol. Those are the Walther PPK/S to satisfy GCA 68 requirements and are the desirable ones!

My brother bought a S&W marked stainless PPKS .380. It doesn't feed well. My German ones work fine.

The only difference was a longer grip The PPK was disqualified by GCA 68 due to weight, extra length = extra weight. The PPK/S differs from the PPK as follows: Overall height: 104 mm (4.1 in) vs. 100 mm (3.9 in) Weight: the PPK/S weighs 51 g (1.8 oz) more than the PPK The PPK/S magazine holds one additional round, in both calibers.

My wife has been carrying a Walther P22 (.22LR). It's easy for old hands to operate. Make no mistake, even a barking .22LR quickly gains respect!

I've owned PPK's and even a PP pr two and I like the feel of the longer grip. To each his own. PJ

Always liked the original Walther PPK. The "s", not so much.
