One Second After The Right to Bear Arms After The Riots Begin Alas Babylon
Those are story type books. Alas Babylon was required reading when I was in High School. Sophomore year I think.
Outside of those I have a few bushcraft books, can't remember names exactly. Foxfire books.
SHTF Field Manual by Stoker Guerrilla's Guide to the Baofeng Radio
ETA - I also have these:
The Area Intelligence Handbook by Mike Shelby (good stuff in there so far) AD-A185 971 - The Joint Low Intensity Conflict Project Report from US Army TRADOC
Watched an interesting video today too - talking about if Trump's allowed to win, it's the "powers that be" swinging right and hard right in preparation for some sort of major conflict set up by the Biden steal. World/Civil/Invasion type war. Sort of made some sense. So good manuals and information will be handy. PRINT not e-books or PDFs.

Forest Anon's YouTube channel?
Otherwise, I would say The Camp of the Saints by Jean Raspail. A useful book for modern times. Very useful book for modern times.

You can't beat One Second After. It is set on the other side of Asheville, 50 miles from here, I know the area well.

Fugg all that shìt.
Get the Ball book on canning. Beat me to it 🤙 To be clear on this; I'm too old slow and stove up to plan on surviving very long when things get dark But I do like the entertainment value of a well written novel of the genre... I've got canning supplies older than many of the posters here. Starving isn't how I'll go out

“When Tyranny becomes Law, Rebellion becomes Duty”
Colossians 3:17 (New King James Version) "And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."

The Survivalist Series written by Angery American are good. It starts with "Going Home". I've read 11 of the 12 so far.

I saw that movie. Gregory Peck, a US nuke sub commander. Hanging out in port in Australia, waiting to die. The Northern Hemisphere has been destroyed by nukes, and Aussies are just waiting for the winds to shift south. Australian government is handing out free suicide pills to all citizens. Grim. I was in high school when that movie came out, half the kids in ninth grade had that book on their desk. On The Beach by Nevil Shute.

I am kinda partial lately to some of the stories on the Post Apocalyptic Fiction board. Especially those by "ncsfsgm". https://pawfiction.proboards.com/board/21/stories-written I also liked the stories by Gary D. Ott aka Tired Old Man. The big criticism of those is that he was always hung up on having his protagonist buy a Springfield M1A.

I have a book called “Living the good life: how to live simply and sanely in a troubled world” by Scott Nearing. He and his wife left the corporate big city world after the depression and homesteaded the rest of their life. Definitely liberal/hippy sorts but lots of good info on how to live a simple happy life.

He and his wife left the corporate big city world after the depression and homesteaded the rest of their life. Definitely liberal/hippy sorts but lots of good info on how to live a simple happy life. When I was a pre-teen, my dad got a subscription to Mother Earth News. Now we were a very conservative household and had to overlook a lot of the hippy stuff in there, but there were some great articles. I remember the Nearings, "Helen and Scott" I believe their column was called. Mother Earth News lifted them to god-like status. (They were self-avowed communists if I recall correctly.) Fast forward to a few years ago I was wandering down memory lane and wondering, "whatever happened to..?" I came across a book written by a former neighbor of theirs (which I admittedly haven't read myself) titled: " Meanwhile, Next Door To The Good Life" written by Jean Hay Bright. The gist of it is.. the Nearings were probably mostly frauds, secretly lived off of trust funds, had electricity in spite of claiming they didn't, etc. The author, and many of the commenters in the reviews, said that the writings of the Nearings inspired them to try and emulate the Nearings and many said that they abandoned corporate life, sold all their possessions, and tried to live off the land raising gardens and animals, etc, only to eventually lose everything- in spite of putting in incredibly hard work and long hours. Said all that to say, before a person jumps in with both feet, they may want to take what the Nearings claimed with a grain of salt.
