Are they overwhelmed by their neighbors? What does their border look like?

As I remember the Dominicans don't think very highly of the Haitians. Thanks to slow Joe we will get first hand experience.

Dude, last week I was actually wondering that very question.
And then of course I got sidetracked and never researched.

One [bleep] island. But we are stuck with the detritus of a failed, well, everything involved? Ought to fly them to France.
Bet it’s a target rich environment for the DR dudes on the fence.

The DR has a much more secure border than the US. And they don't have to deal with a pesky constitution, and ambulance chasers
After the SCOTUS decision today Id be more worried being a Florida resident. Rest assured the NGO's will receive millions tfrom tax payers o fly them into Florida to humiliate Desantis

What ribka said.
The Dominicans know the deal. Take it serious.
The Hatians stay on their side of the street.
If you read between the lines, Haitians risk it on rafts to the US, when a (slightly) better life is a mile away.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

I’ve been to the DR five times starting in 2010 on mission trips. No comparison between the two countries. DR, buy gas at a station. H, buy a quart along the road. Both are corrupt but your life is worth 90%less in Haiti.

I was in DR about 20 years ago, so my info is dated. But Haiti was in a crisis then and the people I talked to didn't take any refugees and didn't put up with crime.
Lots of European resorts there and they didn't take tourists for granted. Still abject poverty in the jungles surrounding the beaches but people were super friendly, but still needy.

I'm betting they have a fence. Even though we're told they don't work.

Haitians won’t go to the DR because Hispanics hate blacks and receive a hostile welcome in the DR with no future no handouts. Remember Haitians speak French and consider themselves to be Africans while DR Identify as Latinos
Look at the Brasil caste system of African vs Latino
Anyway the land of free handouts free lodging and guilty white liberals and very well funded NGOs lay an hours plane ride to Florida away
What would you do?!

You can see the border from space because Haiti is deforested. Dominicans have straight up murdered Haitians in mass killings in the past.
What a terrible history the place has.

One of my hunting buddys is supposed to go to DR in April for a stupid wedding. I have been giving him hell about it.

I was stationed at the US embassy in Santo Domingo 80-81 and even then the Dominicans hated the Haitians. The border was fenced and actively patrolled to keep the Haitians on their own side. I never heard a single Dominican say anything good about Haiti.
The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me.

200 active Major League Baseball players from the DR. A long list of current and future Hall of Famers. Interesting that Haiti has never had a MLB player, short of Haitian-American Touki Toussaint.
