This book came out recently and it is about Chuck Mawhinney, top ranked USMC sniper from the Viet Nam war, and who died last month. It's a good read-- easy to read and filled with stories. The author knew Mawhinney years before anything came out about him being a sniper and after it became known and the author had occasion to see Mawhinney again the conversation got around to writing a book. After a bit Mawhinney agreed. A prior book had been in the works but the author died before finishing it.
This book takes Mawhinney from childhood to Viet Nam and some of his experiences there and later. It is a very interesting book.
I'd recommend it to anyone interested in sniping or Viet Nam.
