My mother bought me a 1500 count package on BBs every month and I was always out when she bought the next package. Life was good in the country in the late 60s and early 70s. I saw a 'vintage' carton of 5000 on Ebay for $70. I shot a lot of them from those cartons so I guess I'm vintage, too. The carton was as beat up as I am.

The cardboard tubes preceded the little cartons. When I was able to buy a couple, I felt like I was rich. π I think those cardboard tubes of BBs were a dime. And there was a small cellphane package of BBs that was a nickel.

The cardboard tubes preceded the little cartons. When I was able to buy a couple, I felt like I was rich. π I think those cardboard tubes of BBs were a dime. And there was a small cellphane package of BBs that was a nickel. The only little packages I ever saw were the ones that came with the gun. The Daisy tubes started out white with a blue cap, then switched to the yellow with a black cap when they went from copper to gold. My favorites were the Federal tubes that looked like small sticks of dynamite. As to reuse, I probably should have kept a reloading journal of the times each BB was used/reused (as if I could really keep track - did this one come from this session or one previous?).
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.
