So, we had an old Ruger tang safety parts gun.



Found a New Old Stock unused Ruger 338 Win Mag barrel. Ran the slack belt grinder across it to remove the "warning lettering" and to prep the barrel for a rust blue or whatever finish we decide on.





Ready to headspace






Action trued, head spaced to minimum, barrel fitted to receiver.



Throated for 210 Nosler Partition



Making Pillars





Pillars installed; stock bedded with Steel Bed



Note the thermometer. I cure at 100 to 110 degrees for 24 hours under an infrared heat lamp.

Bell & Carlson stock. Will be a sturdy scabbard rifle for Elk Hunting in Snake River Country.



Earlier archery hunt, around 5000 feet.



When I get off my duff and decide on the metal finish I will post more photos.

BTW Archery was good!





Most work done a few years ago, now the son law will be concentrating on some rifle hunting this fall and wants the rifle completed! Typical gun smith story, wait and wait and wait.
