Booms be thankful that there are still a few slaves willing to do what it takes to keep this country rolling along.

Blackshart, you pooped your pants, again....

I just did some quick math.

Our 'household' spending is around $500 per day so far this year. $40k/80 days into '24. That is called working for your welfare and reinvesting all your cheese back into America.

Is there a difference?

For a family farm operation?

What about a small business run out of a plumber's house-hold? You know, an office area, garage/shop for plumbing parts and the plumber truck(s)?

Growing up a friend's dad had a backhoe business. Digging ditches for plumbers and electricians on housing tracts and single homes and such. Eventually my friend started working for his dad, they got enough business to sometimes keep a third operator busy too. Mom kept all the paperwork straight. Fuel tank and hydraulic oil drums in the side yard driveway. Basically a "household" business.

Is it any different with a ranch/farm???

Is there a difference between running a household with 2 people versus the cost of running a business?…HELL YES it is significantly different!

But Sam has said he doesn't own anything, just an employee. (If I found that statement, I'm not trained enough to paste it) How could working the ranch as an employee turn his "household into spending $500 per day? Impossible.

Even if owned, household, vs. operation a considerable gap.

Copy that. As long as you know it and don't give a flying [bleep], keep on it...

Your angle on it is very "custom"...

500 a day is pretty cheap.

Winter being a very expensive time on the ranch usually.

We have been lucky so far.

Ed might have a superiority thing & he might drink & post, or might post au naturelle, do you know?. But Jim poked at boomers many many times. Maybe tongue in cheek, or serious. Never the less, he poked, & poked some more. He surely was looking to poke the bear. Surprisingly, the bear awoke. It was ED. Simply giving some of the accusations back, with aplomb I might add.

No real beef whatsoever on this topic other than the government website he cited is notoriously convoluted and misleading but it's a data point nonetheless. Bit of a stretch to conclude what was insinuated if there was some experience with the site. I don't know Jim but Jim's a good guy from all angles IMO even if he has a Boomer beef. He knows it too I suspect but that's where the alcohol and emotion come into play. Lord knows over the many years I may have made some posts with a few beers in me....grin...
