Been yrs since I had one. If I remember correctly I had 3 in one year and haven't had any since.

They all hurt like it's a boulder, but the first 2 I didn't even know for sure when I passed them.

The last one was BIG and I put a glove on and dug it out and cleaned it off and saved it. My wife put it in a little corked topped glass vial and she ran across it recently so I measured it with digital calipers.

Never went to the Dr. Can't believe I was able to pass it. It measures 7.5 MM long and 5.65 MM wide. Gotta be pushing some kind of record, dang thing coulda killed me I think maybe. Ha. The one end comes to a sharp point that could be used as a box cutter. Good grief! Hurts just to look at it. Glad those times are over.

They hurt that you think you're either gonna pass out or die, but neither happens. I never went to the Dr or hospital with any of them, but If I'd of known that last one was anywhere near that size I'd of probably tried to get it broke up or something. Every time I'd do something strenuous and make it move I'd pizz out what looked like root beer. Did that for months until I finally passed it.

Most kidney stones are Calcium Oxalate.

Theralogix makes an over the counter supplement, Theralith, that has Potassium (K+), Magnesium (Mg++) and Vit B6.

There is an inverse relationship in the kidney, excretion of Sodium (Na+) vs. K+, Calcium (Ca++) vs. Mg++. In essence if you're excreting K+ you can't excrete as much Na+, it's either or. Same with Mg++ and Ca++.

So by taking a product with Mg++ and K+, you excrete less Ca++ and Na+, thus have less stone making components to make stones.

Google it.

Just got back from urgent care. Pain stopped while I was in the exam room waiting for the doctor. He thinks I passed a stone. New one for me. Got lucky, I guess.

Odds are it’s calcium oxalate.

If you get a chance to catch one and get it analyzed, you’ll know for sure.

I've been "nursing" one for a couple years. CAT scan indicated it's 9...too big to pass on its own. They can's blast it until it leaves the kidney, so I'm just waiting. Every 6 weeks or so I'll get a dull ache in my side, but the worst is the non-stop retching and vomiting. It only lasts a few hours and then I'm fine for the next 5-6 weeks. Like a ticking time bomb.

Very familiar with them, I’ve started drinking water with fresh squeezed lemon juice everyday.

Same. I buy bags of lemons from Costco.
