Is there a link to where DOM info can be found for Valmet O/U Kombi guns? The Kombi in consideration has SN 923XX.

The rifle barrel is chambered in 5.6x52R (.22 Savage Hi-Power) . A visual of the bore gave the impression of a 1:9T but that is just a guess. Anyone have access to technical specifications?

I would try your question on www.doublegunshop.com/BBS if you don't get a useful answer here--lots of Valmet nutz over there. (But luvtosafari will probably answer here from his hideout in NV!).

Thanks for the link. Found some useful information there. In fact, found the informative thread you started in 2010 there.

It seems that SN =>DOM data, especially for earlier Valmet firearms, probably is not available anywhere anymore.

Now that I have the M212 Kombi in hand, I determined the ROT of the 5.6x52R (.22 Savage HiPower) barrel by the cleaning rod method. It is a 12T barrel, conforming to the spec listed for the 5.6x52R by Wikipedia.

I surely wish that the Valmet line imported by Savage was still available. I still have a "Savage" 2400 in 12 x.222 Rem and a "Savage" Model 333 20 Mag O/U. Both have wood that looks purely edible. They still kill stuff and I've been shooting them for nearly half a century with no problems at all. They both work, even the auto ejectors on the 333, at below zero temps! (Not that we get those in Orange county, CA. But we sure did in 'way upstate New York and Vermont where I got them.). Had a pretty--and pretty accurate--2400 in 12x.308 until it ran off to Nevada....

If this Valmet 212 kombi (the Valmet version of the Savage 330 IIRC) has any edible wood, it is richly hidden by the standard factory, murky walnut stain. Moreover, both the buttstock and forearm have been enhanced with panels of impressed fleur-de-lis style checkering whistle.

But, what really nudged me over the edge towards the purchase was the double triggers, along with iconic, vintage, SAKO windage-adjustable ringmounts that are hand detachable and return to zero capable. I appreciated that the gun was chambered for a rimmed cartridge along with the rimmed shot shell. That just seems aesthetically right for a break open action. Perhaps the most compelling argument was; the Valmet 212 has mechanical means for bullet POI adjustments.
