Ruger 77V in .220 Swift: This is the old tang-safety 77. The rifle was originally equipped with a walnut stock and a 26-inch heavy barrel. I swapped into this rifle maybe 15 years ago...it has been a while. It frustrated the daylights out of me because I believe a good .22 centerfire should be able to print 5-shot groups of 1/2-inch or better. Try as I might, it just wasn't happening. After several years of frustration I acquired a borescope and discovered that the bore was pitted from leade to muzzle. I sent it off to Pac-Nor for a new stainless steel barrel. The original contour was retained, but I had the length limited to 24 inches and the twist rate increased from 1/14 to 1/12 and 5 grooves. Using Nosler 55-grain Ballistic Tips, getting multiple groups to stay near 1/2" and average right around that figure has been quite doable. My original purpose for the rifle was varmints and predators, but I went down the hog hunting rabbit hole and haven't been seen since. The rifle sits in the back of the safe, and that's just wrong.
Overall condition of the rifle is quite good, especially considering its age. No major dings, no chips, and no cracks in the wood...but it does bear that "patina" that a walnut stock will show with time and use. The barreled action is finished in semi-gloss Moly Resin, a Norrell product that is excellent and similar to Cera cote. The trigger guard shows some of the finish chipping, but otherwise the finish is holding up very well indeed.
This rifle is equipped with a Rifle Basix sear, which upgrades the factory trigger VERY effectively. You're not likely to want to do anything further with it except possibly increase the pull weight, it's that good. The Ruger rings installed on the rifle will accommodate a 50mm scope.
