Looking at a 25-35, 20” barrel, has had a tang sight added and the regular rear sight has been removed. Wood is pretty average other than 1 somewhat deep gouge in the forend, no cracks and feels very solid. Metal finish appears to be original, no rust or pitting. Bluing mostly gone on the receiver and probably 50% everywhere else. Bore looks good.

Serial number is 1443644. From a quick search that looks like 1947. I’ve been looking for a 25-35 to hunt with but don’t know a lot about 94s this old. I guess my main questions would be an approximate value and if I’ve got the year right. Anything else I should know or check on it? Thanks!

You've got the year right. Difficult to value without pictures. In that condition, I think retailers might put $1500-1800 on it. Gun show value probably $900-1200. Not a lot of collectors looking for lower condition guns
