you've got absolutely everything that you'll ever need... the only glaring omission in your lineup that i can detect is a levergun, preferably a savage... ...

As already pointed out, you're set with what you currently have. No need to get another rifle..... but sure is nice to have choices and have another rifle just for the sake of scratching an itch if so inclined.

Caliber / cartridge combination should determined by the type of terrain, species hunted and avaiablity of firearm to house the round. But if you want to fill the gap numericaly, an 8mm Rem Mag wood do it.

.308+.375=.683/2 = .341.5
Is the world ready for this new caliber?

Ah come on ya' bunch of party-poopers - give the man an excuse to buy another rifle - the industry needs all the support we can give it.
Numerically - caliber-wise, the closest is about a 34 caliber.
Powerwise - it would be stronger than an 06 and less than a .375's capacity.
I'd say the closest to splitting that difference would be the new Ruger short magnum .338.
There - it's settled.
Now - go forth and buy one.

Rebarrel the 270 to 35 Whelen.

Not on your list but a 45-70 sure would fit in there some where.

If you can shoot the 375 like you would a varmint rifle, sell the 270 and buy a CZ .22 bolt and put a nice 6X scope on it. Anything between the '06 and the 375 is, IMO, not as good as that old war horse 375.

I would think that a carbine/mountain rifle in a short action chambered for .260, 6.5x55, .284, 7mm-08, .338 Fed, or any of the WSM's would work. Good luck.

Hmmmmm....I wonder how many of the guys saying "don't buy another rifle" own more than 4 centerfire rifles?
You asked for suggestions between 30-06 and .375 H&H. Given that ranage, I say 35 Whelen (but factory ammo is very limited). The .338 Winnie is my second choice.

If it was me I would sell the '06 (I dearly love the .270) buy a good .22 rf & a .243 and you are good to go.

I wouldn't sell anything, I would buy another rifle. For me if you want something in between, .338 WM would be my choice.

I was just to the range a couple of days ago and took along my model 94 trapper in 44 mag. That was the one that I ran the most rounds through. It is just plain fun and makes a good short range deer gun.
