Yes, rehab will be difficult, but you can do it! smile

Rehab works- - - -my wife is in a similar situation. She had four small strokes shortly after her 85 year old brother who lived with us for 15 years experienced a horrible ordeal in hospice care, and suffered terribly before passing away back in October. The past several months have been a challenge, but the 20 days she spent in rehab in February made a huge difference in her recovery. She is back home now, with home health care and physical therapists making visits twice a week. I'm going to be her primary caregiver for the forseeable future. PM me if you wish and we can have a one-on-one discussion.

If you would quit smoking like you are in your profile pic, you would have a quicker recovery.

JK Good luck. Glad you are still upright and vertical

Wishing you the best, the body is amazing at what it can repair. Was wondering where you had been.

My aunt had a major stroke and they shut the life support off on her, she started breathing by herself and is doing very well now. This was like 6 years ago when she was 80, still drives and lives by herself.

you have my prayer for a full recovery. I know what you are going through. My wife had a few small strokes then a big one. She's been to in patient rehab twice now and she's doing pretty good but her right side is still in bad shape. Hard to get enrves back connected when communication lines have been messed with I suppose. Hang in there and keep working. It's a big hill to climb.

They can be life threatening and life altering. I had one in 2003 at age 56. Suffered weakness on left side, severe fatigue and short term memory loss, worsening heart condition. The short term memory loss forced me into applying for medical disability as a school administrator. Hard to function as one when you can’t remember names or details that happened 5 minutes ago. Caused a great hardship on finances and family. You can’t automatically cut back overnight. Social services is a nightmare of paperwork lost and resubmitted. Burnt thru retirement and finally approved months later when case was sent out of state. Hard on caregivers too. The second stroke caused double vision and crossed my eyes. Couldn’t read, drive or watch tv. Self corrected in 6 months. Hard, hard road.

I know you’ve been through a lot lately. Stay tough, give ‘er hell in rehab, and good luck.

I hope this brain bleed doesn’t mean you’ll be voting D! wink

Hang tough. Significant improvement is possible. A member of my dissertation committee was able to resume his job as a professor of mathematics after recovering from a stroke.
