Well worth the time to read.

It’s very hard to argue against any points that he made in the essay.

Even Aerosmith can see that something has gone awry…
“There’s something wrong with the world today
I don’t know what it is.
Something’s wrong with our eyes
We’re seeing things in a different way
And God knows it ain’t His
It sure ain’t no surprise, yeah
We’re living on the edge

Yes, it really does seem like we've entered a sort of living hell, somehow.

Thanks George.

The article puts a name on and describes what I've been saying for several years.
Instead of Paganism, I call it Satan or Evil.

I have a wondering mind, it finds obscure places.
Have spent much time pondering what makes our country so special.
Of all the place, all the people, over centuries...why here, why us?

Natural resources are a big part.
Lots of them, and varied.

Geography is another huge one.
Varied terrain, most productive in its own way.
Harbors and rivers provide transportation.

Another flies in the face of popular thought.
A level of homogeneity in our population.
The melting pot theory has validity, but we weren't trying to mix hot lead and water either. Hugely European, from a few countries. Similar looks, basic beliefs...

That leads to the nature of our founders.
They were of a mind to build a nation that was good for all men.
They weren't interested in special interests (too much) they wanted
everyone to be free.
From repression, and to succeed.
I believe that comes from Christian beliefs.

And before some radical God hater talks about someone's lack of Christianity,
the basic moral standards of that day were much more Biblical than many
churches today.

He’s right, you know. The part that bothers me most is there doesn’t seem to be a damned thing I can do about it.

Excellent read. Thanks, George. This quote from Dillonbuck's post expresses very well a thought that I have had:

The melting pot theory has validity, but we weren't trying to mix hot lead and water either.

Diversity is our greatest strength. Really? What does that mean? Where is the evidence? Plenty of examples where diversity, at least certain forms of it, results in less than positive outcomes.

Good read -thanks.

I know over the past several years, I've come to see things as "a flood's coming. Not getting wet isn't an option. Prepare to operate knee deep in it". That is to say the idea we'll simply vote our way out of this is long since passed. Understand that is not going to happen because we're not going to vote it out for the 3-4 generations it would take to reverse course.

Empires tend to last 270 years.
Reserve Currencies last about 100 years.

At the end of each, there is upheaval. America sees both happening (if they happen on course) about the same time.

Empire - 2046-2058
Currency - 2044

There is no "if" - only "when" - what are you/me/we doing to prepare ourselves and our souls for that event? IOW - Titanic has hit the iceberg, no amount of maneuvering is going to stop the sinking, stop burning energy trying to stop that and use it to prepare for what the sinking means.

If we view melting pot as "you are welcome here but once here - you take on and join the specific culture we've built" - that works I think and did for the great Italian, Irish etc migrations we saw in the 19th century. Within a generation of landing here, those people were integrated to American society and thriving.

The problem is we've become "you are welcome here, we're going to make sure you can retain and mimic the old culture here and God help anyone who tries to say one doesn't belong".

We've gone from a bowl of stew to a cafeteria tray, all the ingredients divided up and trying not to let any touch.

The other problem is - open and free society that allows a difference of opinion but we do not allow ourselves to shed bad opinions. We hold onto and propagate opinions simply because it was said, not because it's right.

People and ideas counter to the Constitution and freedom should be viewed, not as "a progressive with communist thinking and we must allow that as a free society" - They need to be seen as cancer. Cut out and destroyed. You can have opinion, speak opinion, but once that opinion is anti-Freedom, anti-US - you're treated the same as we would any other enemy and eradicated.

We could never go to that now tho - cat's out of the bag and the Dems would use it against the pro-freedom/Constitution folks - essentially cancer killing the host instead of host killing cancerous cells. It's just too late.

Good points, Teal.

We hold onto and propagate opinions simply because it was said, not because it's right.

That was my point about the whole diversity schtik. Uncritical parroting of a concept, propaganda,

Different take on the melting pot thing, and totally right.

I've told the story of my Great........Grand Dad.
He got off the boat, renounced his German affiliation and swore allegiance
to the King. (Then fought against him!)

Point being,
before the United States was, those coming here came entirely.
Heart, mind, soul, and became...American.
That continued until my lifetime.

The stories are eye watering to any deeply patriotic American.
How citizenship day was right there with their wedding and the birth of children.
Grown (rough and tough ass men) crying as they took the oath.

Becoming a citizen today is weighed on a scale.
Benefits vs cost.

The 2 final paragraphs stuck with me.... Trying to accept that God's plan may include the loss of our Republic... I sure hope we don't have to accept that event but every news cycle seems to suggest that it could happen.

Thank you for posting this.

The task for Americans today, Christian and non-Christian alike, is to see the decline, understand what it portends, and prepare accordingly. This is not a counsel of despair. For Christians familiar with their own history, nothing is ever really cause for despair — not even the loss, if it comes to that, of the American republic. History, as J. R. R. Tolkien said in one of his letters, is for Christians a “long defeat — though it contains (and in a legend may contain more clearly and movingly) some samples or glimpses of final victory.”

What he meant by this, in part, is that we cannot in the end vanquish or eradicate evil. Our world, like Tolkien’s Middle Earth, is a world in decline, marred by sin and corruption, embroiled in a rebellion against God. But as Christians, we repose our hope in a God who can, and indeed already has, conquered sin and death. So we await the dawn, and in the meantime, we fight the long defeat.

Anyone know "exactly" who that guy in the video is?

Can't find much info on him other than he is a journalist, went to so and so college, etc. No real info about his life.
