I usually don't get into the S&W revolvers with the lock but this one came up on a local auction. Model 48 22 mag 4" with the original wood grips and a set of rubber grips. Ended up getting it for less than half of what they usually bring. Took it out and ran a couple cylinders full of Winchester 40 gr Jhp . Shoots where it's supposed to.
I have one of the new S&W autos caught up in a bankruptcy. Supposed to get here eventually, but if not I might start looking for a clean 48, or possibly another Single Six, as a companion to my AR.
