Change your plans if it’s not too late. I hate Houston, and I was born there!

I do. A lot.

But, I've watched too many episodes of The First 48 and Houston is one place I'll try to avoid for the rest of my remaining years!

Lupe Tortilla if you like Mexican food.
Papa’s steakhouse if you want to drop big $$$$ on a good steak. Taste of Texas as an alternative.

NASA with a trip to the Kemah boardwalk.

If you’re gay, head to Montrose.

No reason to go downtown, unless you want to catch a baseball game.

If staying in a hotel, don’t leave anything valuable in your car.

Make sure you hit a Buc-ees on you way in and out of town.

El Tiempo Cantina fajita’s are off the hook.

Whataburger is the best fast-food burger in the lower 48.

Carter Country ???
There’s another one called “collector’s firearms” or something like that.
If you’re a fan of super high prices, you’ll love it. 🤪

I think most Americans have heard of the Alamo but how many know about the Battle of San Jacinto and the San Jacinto Monument? The Battle of San Jacinto is where Texas won the war for independence from Mexico.

Cheers! Bob smile

San Jacinto Museum and Battlefield.

https://www.sanjacinto-museum.org/

"The San Jacinto Monument is a 567.31-foot-high column located on the Houston Ship Channel in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, about 16 miles due east of downtown Houston. The Art Deco monument is topped with a 220-ton star that commemorates the site of the Battle of San Jacinto, the decisive battle of the Texas Revolution. The monument, constructed between 1936 and 1939 and dedicated on April 21, 1939, is the world's tallest masonry column and is part of the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site. By comparison, the Washington Monument is 554.612 feet tall, which is the tallest stone monument in the world. The column is an octagonal shaft topped with a 34-foot Lone Star – the symbol of Texas. Visitors can take an elevator to the monument's observation deck for a view of Houston and the San Jacinto battlefield."

I've lived in Houston since 1986 and I like it just fine.
Sure, Houston's not perfect but it's not bad for a large city IMO. [Linked Image from i.imgur.com]
