I have a couple of rimfire cans and am in the market for a new host. Already own several threaded semi auto 22 rifles and pistols but want a bolt action to keep things quiet and not draw the ire of the old lady on the property next door. I'm thinking the 16" CZ 457 Royal would fit the bill nicely but am curious what other options are out there. Other suggestions?

Shot my 20” Tikka w/my new TBAC Takedown the other day. 1” to 1-1/2” impact shift at 50 yards and pretty much just hear the firing pin dropping/hitting. Then a loud DING when the bullet hits the plate 50 yards away. Shooting Eley Target ammo.
I love my Tikka, I am thinking about a 16” chop. It’d be hard to screw up with a CZ.
Have fun!

I have a T1x - love it but regret the 20" tube. The 16" wasn't an option when I got mine or I'd have gone that route. That's easily remedied of course, but mine doesn't see a ton of work beyond backyard vermin or plinking anyway.

I likely should have gotten the 16” out of the gate. But the 20” felt a LOT better in the store.
Didn’t think about it at the time, but probably could’ve added some forend weight.

I love my Ruger 77/22. Shortened the barrel to 16 inches and threaded.
Don't just be a survivor, be a competitor.

I love my Ruger 77/22. Shortened the barrel to 16 inches and threaded. +1 Mine has a 16" Green Mountain threaded barrel and I have killed squirrels out to 72 paces with it. I shoot a Silencerco Sparrow and CCI 45gr Quiets at 835fps.
Medics bury their mistakes..

I enjoy my little 18" factory-threaded magnum-contour Anschutz. Great trigger and quiet with CCI Standard Vels through the Dead Air Mask.
Now with even more aplomb

Any experience with the Christensen Arms Ranger?
I like that it uses 10/22 mags.
