If I read the antique plate correctly, it is a 1966 something. '66 Neverstoler. "New for the 1966 model year, we made this thing so ugly that nobody never stole her" (Neverstoler).

My first thought was Studebaker. But after looking at the tail lights and side gas fill I don't think it is. I don't think it's Rambler or Plymouth either.
Might not be American made.

I kept my Monte Carlo as close to stock appearance as I could, even went to the trouble of hunting up and restoring the Chevy Rally Wheels, which I liked. “Why wouldn’t you put Cragars on it”?😀 “Because I like these wheels more”! Gotta admit, I love those old steel rims painted to match the body and topped with Baby Moons. Old school class!😀

The front fenders have me thinking its a Valiant also....
But my money is on, that it got rear ended, and it is some home auto body concoction.

Thinking same. Or could be a Canadian version of something. They were sometimes close but different. Wanted to say Australian, but steering is on the correct side for this one.
Those wheel well fillers were called fender skirts. Sometimes a factory option or aftermarket. Popular in the day.
The fins on the back? Started about 57 & ended with most American cars after 1960.

Check out the right rear….leaf springs. Been few years since I have seen them on a car. When did they stop using leaf springs? shackles baby... fashion faux pas to let them hang below the body, uglier than schit!... corvettes used leaf springs till 2019(transverse mounted composite)... Volvo till 2020 on the XC90 SUV, again, transverse mounted(aka crossways)

You are right, forgot about them being crossways, have a golf cart and front is mounted crossways and believe rear is straight. Trailers still have leaf springs. Can buy them at Agri Supply.

Noticed the shackles, skirts and the visor right away. Never saw a Valiant with skirts, and I knew the visor didn’t belong there. Those Cordobas and Dodge Chargers based on that body had leaf springs.
My family had probably 6 or 7 of those things in the late 80s and early 90s! At the auction you could usually snag one for 3 or 400 bucks, and they weren’t bad to drive or work on. Dad was always a Ford man, but he sure wasn’t gonna throw stones at something good and cheap!
I’m pretty sure the Volarey & Aspen models did as well.. Chrysler always had leafs in the back and torsion bars up front! My BIL had an Aspen, and I thought it pretty nice. He was talking about building a 340 to swap out the 318.
It does look a helluva lot like a Rambler American, which weren’t bad cars. With a 390, known as the SC/Rambler, which is both rare and beautiful in my eyes.
But you had to be careful with AMC stuff. They bought parts from all 3 auto makers and to wrench one one, you never knew what you had for sure until you got it taken down. I saw a lot of Buick and Ford engines in the same AMC bodies!
This one ain’t something I would want, but as I said, if he likes it, I’m not one to criticize anybody else’s ride.
