I think I still have a box of these in a storage box. Is this bullet too heavy for a 6.5 cm?

Am I omitting some important information in order to give an opinion?

They weren't too heavy to use in the 6.5x55 for over a hundred years, so the Creedmoor should be no different.

History repeats itself because it worked. If it didn’t work in the first place, it wouldn’t be history but another lost story of insignificance.

They worked good in my 260 rem and 6.5x55 so they should work good in the CM

Yes, they are worthless in the 6.5CM. You better send them to me so I can use them in my 6.5x54MS

Not sure about the different case capacity between a Creed and the 6.5x55, but my 6.5x55 loved those Hornady 160 gr. RN's with RL-22 behind them. Very accurate but back then ( about 20 years ago) I wasn't happy with the velocity. The most accurate dosage of RL-22 was only yielding an average of 2366 FPS. Nowadays, as an older, wiser, rifle looney, I look at stuff like sectional density and read things about that bullet weight & velocity from 6.5x55's, 6.5x54's etc. Lots of glowing reports on the effectiveness on game of that combo even without blazing speeds. Now I'm starting to reconsider that load for the good portion of my deer hunting in areas where I can't even see a deer much past 100-125 yds. Still have a couple boxes of those bullets kicking around. If I owned a 6.5 Creed I'd give 'em a try and make a decision based on accuracy & velocity results.

Not too heavy, but maybe too long for the typical 6.5 CM throat.

In my recent savage 6.5 CM there is lots of room for the Hornady 160 RN. Seated to the cannelure has about .080 jump. Only loaded a couple to try. My friend wanted to try the gun so I handed him the 2 rounds and told him to put them in the same hole. They were touching each other!
