I have two 7mm-08's all they have been fed is 308's sized in 7mm-08. If you were to make 22-250 brass from 30-06 brass you would likely have to turn the necks besides a lot of other work. Sizing 308 to 7mm-08, I seriously doubt you'd ever have problem.
I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

I’m forming 6.5x55 SE brass from LC Match ‘06 brass today. Finished product is in spec for neck O.D. Happy about that, but have outside neck turner on standby if needed.

How uniform are the neck wall thicknesses around the circumference? Just now measured a half dozen case mouths at 3, 6, 9 & 12 o’clock each. About half of all measurements were .015”, with the other half being not greater than .016” or not less than .014”. That means my maximum possible O.D. is .260+.016+.016=.292”, .001” under max. I’m not shooting benchrest; so that will work for me.

If a guy was set on SRP’s for his 7/08 and didn’t care about headstamp there is a ton of Alpha SRP 260 currently available.

Would a change in primer size necessitate a change in firing pin diameter? There's a chance that if you have a sloppy firing pin hole like most Remington rifles you could get some primer cratering and back flow around the pin. If it's bad it can lead to pierced primers. If it's a problem use the harder small rifle primers like cci #41s and rem 7.5s. I used to use those in my 700 bdl 17 rem that cratered bad. And you can always send your bolt in to have it pushed if it's a big problem. I just use harder primers. Bb

I see you found your LR primers so you're "problem solved." But just one note based on your original post - when you neck down, expect your cases to get longer. when you neck up, expect them to get shorter.
Enjoy your new rifle! Rex

I got my TC Compass in 7mm-08 during a bit of a rush. At the time, 7mm-08 brass was hard to get, so I just resized 308 WIN and went for it. My initial results were not the best, but that was more due to the powder than anything else.
My brass, when resized, came out about .02" short, but it did not affect accuracy all that much. I was able to nail a doe at 80 yards that first year. The concept was proved, and I started wringing out better accuracy and longer ranges after that. I'm currently getting 1 MOA or better with WIN StaBall 6.5 and Hornady 139 grain SPs.
