Okinawa has a history of some bad tsunamis.
Deep water is close to the island so the wave does not lose much energy before it makes landfall.
Hopefully the ChiComs are not testing a new earthquake machine.

Off the east coast of Taiwan. Populations is fairly low on that side of the island. Saw some footage of tipped over buildings and elevated roads shaking.
