That was The Old West, where men were tough.
Well, actually the surgery suite just so happened to be the Long Branch, the pool table became the surgery table.
They'd throw the victim on the table, ole Doc would get the whiskey, pour some on the wound, give the patient a slug, then take a draw himself.
Then, they were ready for business. When you heard that bullet hit the metal pan, you knew old Bubba was gonna be OK.
Only the walking wounded went upstairs, real bleeding emergencies, downstairs.
