I’d coveted a mountain rifle in 280 Rem since they first came out. Acquired a nice 1987 model that I haven’t had a chance to set up yet. Hoping it displaces my silly accurate 700 SS Mtn in .308 and my 504 .22lr which are currently co-favorites.

Of the Remingtons I own there are two I could never part with.

The first, a 580 given to me by my parents for my 8th birthday. A sweet little rifle that harkens back to a time when life was simple and good. Innocence I’ll never get back.

Another is a model 24 made in 1929. That rifle is more fun and reliable than any semi auto 22 of the time should be. It is sleek in looks and operation. Still made today (last I checked) as the Browning SA-22

Kandpand: Good luck on corralling those nifty sounding Remington Rifles.
I know I have seen the 700 KS Model 700's in 270 and 30/06 but do not recall seeing those calibers you wish for in the CDL SF models.
Again good luck in gathering those guns.

Here is a video about the CDL SF 6.5 Creedmoor:

My original purchase of a 700 BDL DBM SS/synthetic. It was about 1989 or 90(IIRC). It is the Venable 3006 caliber and it has taken a large pile of critters all over the west and I will never part with it until I am gone. It is in a B & C carbon fiber stock and it shoots and carries great.

My all-time favorite is my Model Seven in 7mm-08. It's an older model with 18-1/2" barrel. Shoots great.

Remington's are my favorite rifle for sure. I only have one, but with I had never sold the others. My favorite is the Remington 700 Ti in 7 SAUM.

The others have been:

Remington Model 7 in 7SAUM
Remington 700 CDL in 7/08 (still can't believe I sold this one)
Remington 700 ADL in .270 (probably the most accurate of them all)
Remington 7400 in .270

My father has a Remington 700 in 7Mag and a Model 7 in .243. I killed a huge axis buck with that .243.

Model 14's in .32 and .35 Remington for big game , model 25 in 25 WCF for medium game and a Model 24 for small stuff . Favorite Remington bolt gun has always been my 788 carbine in .243 , the only one I ever kept.

Grumpy old man with a gun.....Do not touch .
Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
Don't bother my monument and I'll leave yours alone.
