I believe they did a BDC type duplex with two holdover dots. Long range duplex?

They were available with standard Duplex, wide Duplex and LR Duplex. Another variation was one with an A.O., target turrets and 1/2" dot.

Sadly, the Fx series with the long range duplex was and is one of my favorite scopes. Leopold of course discontinued that line and now they are much desired scopes they made. I prefer a fixed power scope to any variable.

Gotta agree with cs2 and RicG as the FX LRD has gotten to be my favorite. I have three but wouldn't pass up a chance for another one.

Years ago the custom shop would swap reticles in them for pretty cheap. I had a couple 6x with mil dots, and they were my go to open/broken country, big game hunting scope for a lot of years. Did a ton of shooting for fun with them as well.

My favorite that I still have was a 6x42 with a fine duplex and a tall target turret. I had them swap reticles when it was still cheap. I need to stick that scope on a rifle and go hunt it.

Has the FX series been a reliable scope for those long term users?

I wouldn’t consider it a dialing scope, although the only all time b&c critter I killed was dialing a 6x. I have had fogging issues in a few. But they were the only scope I used for 15 years and I hunted a bunch.
