The local gunshop here just got in, on consignment, a mint perfect Smith & Wesson Model 16-2 revolver in 32 Magnum, with 4" barrel. The asking, consignment price, is $2,000.00 (no sales tax in Montana). I was shocked at this price when I saw it but did a little investigating and that price seems in line for this rather rare Smith revolver nowadays. The revolver appears unfired to me and is allegedly a one owner gun (don't know the owner) who bought it new in 1990. Anyway the gun is very nifty and lots of meat around the cylinder holes - the grips are the finger groove, uncheckered S&W "Combat" style. No box. If anyone is interested the number of the shop is 406-683-9844 - Tuesday through Saturdays. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

Not an easy one to find. 3 on Gunsinternational and 2 on gunbroker that's it. This one ends in an hour. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1043536400

Troutnut, That one is a cool looking piece. Be fun to pop a doe in the ear with! Then some bunnies! Then some ground squirrels...

Bunnies, squirrels and H&R would be good match made in heaven. Back in late 1800 (ca. 1890) Harrison & Richardson marketed fine S×S made on famed Anson & Deeley actions (of Westley Richards). Man, those were among the best game guns assembled in USA. Thanks for wonderful moment of nostalgia.

Should be a 16-4. And yes they are cool and fun to shoot. I don’t think I’d give $2000 for one but they are fairly scarce. I have a 6” and I know at least one other poster with 2 of them.

That's one I'd love to have but it's out of my budget range. Local shop recently had a 6-inch 16-4 with factory combats for $1940 but I think someone finally snagged it. Fabulous gun.

TroutNut: Thanks for that example - it did end at $1,475.00. I would prefer the 6" barrel version over the 4" model here at my local gunshop. The owner of the gunshop told me the owner of the pistol originally paid $320.00 for the pistol new! So he is expecting a "six-fold" increase on his investment. Thanks again. Jcon72: I would like to have this Model 16 for my collection but, like you, the price startled me! I am not saying the pistol is not worth it but I won't be a player for it at that price. Amazing how some firearms increase in value in relatively short amounts of time. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

The problem with that tag price for Ole' Boy is he is discouraging fair offers. At this price point $500 gap is simply too large. It is ok I am sure he does not need to sell it just trying to move something he has no use for, can not say I blame him.

The Kid & HawkI: Indeed the pistol in question is a 16-4 not a 16-2 like I originally posted/misremembered. Looked at the gun again and it is flawless! But again the "two big bills" price tag intimidates me. Thanks for the correction. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

Would love to have a 4”, but at that price I guess I will keep on with my 6”………wish I had scored one back in the 90s…

The 4” is great but since I am more of a hunter I would gladly trade my 4” for a 6” version

Traded into one a few years ago that Dick ended up with. Only reason I sold it is because I had a Model 53 6" converted to .327 and just didn't have a use for the 4". When visiting Dick in 2021 got to shoot a bunch of ground squirrels with it...glad it went to a good home... Saw a 8 3/8" sell on GunBroker a few weeks ago for something like $2500... https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1036089916Bob

Look at the bidding history of the two guys who were bidding...both had A+ ratings...
For whatever reason GB ended up booting the winner for not paying for a previous auction...
