I never really got the collector thing. The are guns I like, that I want more of, but 24k buys a lot of 6” 686’s.
What was special about the Boa? Beautiful pistol…..btw…..

It is nice rare revolver, you should place a bid. Going to be hard to beat those Colt boys, aka billionaire gun boys club.

$1200 was a lot of scratch for a pistol back in ‘85. Or at least it would have been for my dad.
It is beautiful, no doubt.

It is beautiful, no doubt. Definitely a lot of $ then. That would have bought a few 686s or quite a few others

F that. It probably will never be shot, which is OK as a Korth, Spohr, or a Manurhin for much less money would shoot circles around it with a better DA trigger pull.

Isn't that just a Trooper MkV with a Python-looking barrel? Just Colt using up a bunch of parts they had lying around? Colt was/is famous for that, but it doesn't make it a high-dollar revolver in my book. I'm not a collector, though. I think "collecting" is silly, I buy stuff to use.

Did the bidders know the 357 is dead? Apparently they missed the memo on here. Guess it won't matter much since that one won't ever be shot

Troutnut: That final price ($28,776.00!) is worthy of another DAMN! Yeah I would be VERY pleased if my $1,000.00 investment back in 1985 turned into nearly $29,000.00 in 2,024! Just checked one source for the Colt Boa and in 1985 the "retail price" was $525.00 - so that would make the investment TWICE as good. SO... ones investment back then would have multiplied itself about 56 (fifty six!) times til today. Lordy. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

I like everything but the grips - the deep groove around the checkering doesn't work for me. The Royal Blue is superb.
