My 10 year old son wants a 1911 style pistol. I’ve been interested in 22lr 1911s. I see that browsing has some and are nice and actually a little smaller. Anyone have experience with these? Or is their any other brands I should be looking at?

The little Browning is the ONLY one you should be looking at......
Just get one of the models with the updated sights. The GI style sights suck.

I've admired the little Browning 1911's since they first came out.
Finally bought one about a year ago. Don't know WHY I waited so long....

Mine is the straight military version and I concur that the sights are pretty minimal and would go with the target type sight if I was to buy another. No problems with any ammo so far but I’ve only used a couple of types.
My only gripe is that the regulation type hammer bites in my hand. I’m thinking about bobbing it just a bit.

Browning is the way to go. Many of the other 1911 22s are made by Umarex. I bought one on a whim a few months ago. The ATI model. I shot it this past weekend. It functioned flawlessly and felt great. Long term durability and reliability remains to be seen though.

Anyone here have one of the Colt Gold Cup .22s made by Walther? My son just got one- hasn't received it yet- and wondering what to watch out for as far as any problems they may have?

I carry my Browning 1911-22 in an Officers Model 1911 IWB holster. My belt "snugs" it in just fine.

I have an Sig 1911-22. I added some aftermarket Taylor parts to it.
For what it is it’s surprisingly pretty accurate. It likes mini mags the best.
I do know it doesn’t like yellow jackets. The way the nose is shaped it fails to chamber about 1/2 the rounds.

I carry mine in a simply rugged pancake made for a regular 1911, works fine. Not super snug - not loose, not an issue for woods carry.
