Had a guy ask for an estimate on replacing all this siding, I already told him there is no telling what we might get into under that stuff. I'm going to put a tape to it in a couple of days. I have no idea what the going rate is nowadays. Maybe FireBalls will chime in.

I’d not only be leery of what the frame under is like, but also if someone owns that if they can afford to pay you!

A coat of Sherwin Williams paint will fix it right up.

I wouldn't touch it unless I was really needing work.
No foundation and most definitely critters are living under it.
No telling what the framing looks like.
Looks like horizontal 2x8 in that one pic. Not telling how it was framed.

Actually you could skin it with real wood B&B...

Enough break-up so any irregularities would not be noticed.

How much money does this guy have? That is not going to be cheap and I would get at least half up front if I decided to even take it on.

Looks like the place needs a match, honestly.

Haven't seen it in person yet, they just texted pics and asked if I'm interested. Someone I've done work for in the past back when I was doing some remodeling recommended me.

Triple the going rate and make clear the limitations of any warranty that might apply and let the quote fly.

Definitely, I told him it wouldn't be cheap with the cost of lumber nowadays.

No foundation. Now would be the time to put a foundation in as he could access it by removing the first 3 rows of siding. Then throw some widows in and stucco it.

Hell no, not unless they signed a contract with a sliding fee scale based on what's underneath, and paid a deposit too.
