I like to peruse the firearms section of our local classified site, zidaho.com, just to see if there's anything I can't live without.

It seems that more and more desirable handguns are being offered at lower prices. Lower being relative to maybe one or two years ago, that is, so still not cheap. But there's a Belgium Browning Hi Power like new in the box offered for $900, a "like new" Ruger Hunter .44 Magnum for $850, an excellent S&W 17-4 for $650 and so forth. Things that used to be offered for well into the 4 digit range.

You could always find a few underpriced pieces from widows or someone selling off their father's old "kept in the drawer forever" gun but they went very quickly, I'm seeing these stick around a while.

Still lots of inflated and even ridiculous prices from overly optimistic sellers and especially from the Dealers (sellers are identified as Dealer or Private), but over the last few weeks and months I've been seeing a lot more private sellers offering nice firearms at "reasonable" prices.

Just a glitch in the Matrix due to very low demand or perhaps I've become so enured to extra high prices that any reduction seems like a good buy.

I just picked up a 98% S&W Safety Hammerless and a Colt 1917 revolver this weekend because the prices on both were so great I wouldn't be able to live without them.

It is buyer market for gun sales in US. To change trend members of Democratic party would have to win next presidential election and make gains in US congress. Increased cost of living also has negative effect on gun sales. The prices will continue to decline for foreseeable future.

Also factor in something for me...the guns I'm into, the people who collect them are getting fewer and fewer every day. A 1880's S&W Safety Hammerless has ZERO appeal to todays generation brought up on Call of Duty.

This is best visualized by looking at prices of game guns. Vintage game gun from Birmingham that cost $4000 to $6000 twenty years ago can be bought for around $2000+/-500.

Yep, picked up an 1870's Belgian 20 bore hammer gun on a Holland back action for under 2K last year.
