I found something I wanted more so this one needs to go. 5 digit Classic CRF New Haven rifle, SN# 86XXX Rifle is shooter grade, has a few blems, see photos. $1175 shipped to lower 48, AK/HI extra. Scope (Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 Plex) and mounts not included, can be had for $1525 Shipped. I will include a copy of my driver's license to your FFL. First public I'll take it trumps all tire kickers.

Ole Jack would like this rifle! He wrote in an Outdoor Life article, "The Neglected 280 Remington", "If the 280 had come out before the 270 did, I would be a 280 man." DesertDweller62

I own one of these in 280 Rem, my favorite big game cartridge, and I would highly recommend it.
I believe I once read an article written by Jim Carmichael in the "American Hunter" that he had once asked an older Jack that if he (Jim) were going to buy a new rifle what would he (Jack) recommend, a 270 Win or a 280 Rem? And Jack said, (me paraphrasing), I'd get a 280 Rem, it's a better caliber....

That looks like a 70 super grade. I wonder what caliber it is?

I owned a Classic (but not the FW) in 280 Rem years ago. As I recall, I shot a nice pronghorn, and a couple Montana mule deer in a few weeks with it. All 140 gr. Barnes handloads. Can't go wrong right here!

I have one of these that I purchased a couple years back. Funny I have a similar spot around my front swivel. I need to start shooting mine.

But Jack's last custom rifle was a 280 because he finally had his epiphany.
