Pretty damn ugly but I guess today more plastic is more better. Just looks like the offroad RAV4 that was stretched in a few places.

Looks like I'll be keeping my 97. 3.4, 5 speed manual, 18-25 mpg. Granted it's a bit slower. But at 3800 pounds vs the new 6000 pounds I guarantee that I can fit and climb to places the new ones can't.

Yeah, but at 84 months and 8% interest it's a steal.

If that's msrp, it's insane It’s just a guess based on vehicle price trajectory, interest, and inflation the last, say, 3 1/2 years.

Turbo 4 cylinder? If so, easy pass. Probably, they should do I nice inline 6, while im dreaming make it a diesel. Looked at 1 for my wife in 2019 when she said she wanted a smallish suv. I told her it had to have low range so that didn't leave us many options. We liked the 4runner until we drove one. We couldn't go for the poor milage with no power. Bb

I've seen smaller screens at drive-in movie theaters. That stupid thing sticking up would be a deal breaker for me. The whole thing looks hideous.

The motor looks like a can of worms. I wouldn't want to be the guy who has to work on it.

One thing I really love about the pictures in the article.... is how the tires are covered with dirt and mud, yet the wheels and the body of the vehicle is almost spotlessly clean!
Hey If I hit one of these big powerball lotteries, I might consider investing in one.
But I tend to think of it, in strange terms.... like pricing in my life time.
In Dec 1960, my parents bought a 3 bed room house, on a couple acres of land and paid $11,500 for it... I was in the third grade. Their payment was $81 a month. I went by the house when I was back east in Virginia two summers ago. The house had been sold for $1.1 million dollars, that summer. Metro Washington DC, in Northern VA.
So what would one of these 4 Runners cost me? Even if I paid cash for it.. no financing?
The last new vehicle I bought was in September 1987, which was a Toyota 4 Runner, a 1988 model SR 5, with the 22 RE and the 5 speed manual transmission. It listed for $17,500.00 I bought it for $14,000.00 new off the lot with 2 miles on the odometer. Still have it, and its got 590K plus on the odometer. Runs just fine. Had it in storage the last 6 months, since Oregon has started salting the roads on mountain passes. Recharged the battery, had put a bottle of "HEAT" in the fuel tank last fall, with 3/4s of a tank of fuel in it. Pumped the gas pedal twice and turned on the key, and it started right up.
If I hit the big lottery, I admit to I'd probably spend some money on myself and actually buy one of those. But I'm not holding my breathe for winning a big lottery, especially at this stage in my life. So I'll admire them from afar like I've been doing for the last 25 to 30 years. And I'm just fine with that...
Still will drive the 88 4Runner and the 2011 Tacoma 4WD, I bailed out a nephew on, when he didn't make the payments on it, so I just paid it off and took possession of it, since it was on the east coast and he was in Hawaii.. unemployed.
