5 or 6 Tom's in area.
Me and slumlord have seen over past 3 or 4 weeks.
All gobbling their heads off yesterday morning till around 715.
Had 4 hens around the dekes for about 30 35 mins around 8 to 830.
1 Tom gobbling about 125 yd out closing distance.
He shut down about 65 70 yds out
Didn't have eyes on him.

I wasn't calling just letting the hens talk.
All of a sudden hens focus are looking my way.

Tom was about 15 yds behind me.
Sumbytch pr9bably all fanned out behind.
Tried to super slow turn head to get a look at him

I got pegged needless to say and he hauled azz.


Set up little different this morning.

Birds are absolutely silent this morning.
Yesterday it was like 44° at dawn
It is 62° right now.
0 wind dead calm...

I ain't made a call yet.
Not gonna till I hear hens or a Tom.

Believe it or not I've heard of guys chasing gas/cycling issues and the problem turned out to be the o-ring some manufacturers install under the extractor in addition to the standard spring. Might be worth a shot to see if yours has one and remove it.

All this happened within 30-40 minutes spread over 100 acres with help from one lucky coyote that came rushing in where 4 of the 5 were strutting.
Those 4 flew across the small valley right to 4 hunters, then one that was already over there being worked flew across after all of the ruckus/shooting to where the 4 were initially and met his demise.

It was a wild morning!
