News report says they are starting with three jets now with more to follow.
https://www.eglin.af.mil/News/Artic...e-to-be-modified-for-autonomous-testing/

Quote
EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. - The 96th Test Wing and 53rd Wing welcomed the first three F-16 Fighting Falcons ready to take part in the Viper Experimentation and Next-gen Operations Model – Autonomy Flying Testbed program.

VENOM-AFT is designed and funded to accelerate testing of autonomy software on crewed and uncrewed aircraft. VENOM-AFT complements the Autonomy Data and AI Experimentation proving ground at Eglin and informs the Collaborative Combat Aircraft program and other autonomy developers.

USAF has been working toward a drone wingman tech for a while. One F 35 with a few drones out in front a few miles to take all the risks.

What could go wrong?

If you can not find a USAF pilot willing to drop bombs on American Citizens, just send a drone to do it.

Makes sense. F-16 is more capable than any pilot can fly it.

Yup, they flew a radio controlled version back in the mid-seventies. The aircraft can pull more Gs that a human body can tolerate, the onboard computer limits the flight controls so a pilot doesn't break themselves... 🤭

You are obviously correct. DC will have no trouble, nor has any entity ever had trouble finding minions to follow any order given.

Human nature is as it has been for 10,000 years. It will not change in the next 100 years.

Thank you. It wasn't hard to figure out, since the last time the US Air Force dropped bombs on American citizens was a long long time ago.

Semantics?

Not USAF,
How about the Philthy Poleece?
1985.

If it's gotta be Federal troops?
Firing on American citizens?

Kent State is controversial, so

1932 on Veterans wanting their bonuses early.
Bunch of WWII hero generals were involved in that.

In 1921 the Army Air Force threatened to bomb coal miners in West Virginia.
Ordered by Billy Mitchell.

1935 Europe: When was the last time ANYONE rounded up every Jew, Gypsy, and queer they could get their hands on, and then systematically executed 6 million of them?

Oh that's right....NEVER.

Do you think the red army in Russia did not use EVERY weapon at their disposal to eliminate the white army.

We are the White Russians 100 years later. The reds will use every tool at their disposal to eliminate us.

One might remember the recent events in what was once Yugoslavia to gain a clue.

Mitchell was dispatched by President Harding to West Virginia to stop the warfare that had broken out between the United Mine Workers, Stone Mountain Coal Company, the Baldwin–Felts Detective Agency, and other groups after the Matewan Massacre. On August 26, Mitchell commanded Army bombers from Maryland to Charleston, West Virginia. Mitchell told the press that Army bombers alone could end the "Mingo War" by dropping tear gas on the miners. Technically you are correct because the USAF had not been constituted yet but your patronizing manner is noted. You may also want to review the Bonus Army affair starring Macarthur and Patton, the Haymarket affair and the Minneapolis Teamsters strike.

The US Navy has been testing some stuff. smile

Thanks BFaucett,

It has seemed like a huge waste of resources to tie up fighter/attack aircraft as fuel trucks. I am glad to see the Navy is getting an alternative.

A place name that is probably spelled wrong (and pronounced wrong) more often that it is done correctly.
