A&W root beer floats were my thing back it the day. This. My granny used to whip up a mean float with AW rootbeer. That and salmon patties were her specialty.

Speaking of addiction, I used to be almost addicted to these so I can tell you to make them the best, use cold, cold Coke or other soda and if you want to avoid some of the inevitable foam, pour about half glass of coke first, then add the ice cream. Defintiely NOT diet food!
