Having some difficulty locating the *correct* part[s] for my 028 Super Wood Boss saw

The part needed is the annular buffers

The originals are 1" or 25MM diameter

I ordered what I thought was the correct part but they are 1-1/8 or 29MM and definitely won't fit it.
Every time I search it the above comes back.

I can't seem to find the correct part #

Struggling here....

Raeford I'm not sure if this helps you but I had a devil of a time getting anyone to fix an old Stihl that wouldn't stay running and went here

https://www.acehardware.com/store-details/07367

They took the time to understand the problem and fixed the saw with some hard to get ahold of parts. Their Stihl service seems to be top notch. Maybe a call to them will yield some results for you. Good luck.

Sadly I had a Stihl 028 that got burned up that would have been a good parts saw for you but I no longer have it.

Raford,

Call Outdoor Power Equipment down in Salem on Melrose Ave., they are in the old Roanoke Salem Plaza. As for Steve Wirtz. If anyone can help you he can. He is the best Stihl mechanic I know.

He also loves 1911 pistols, in particular Dan Wessons.

Yes, ....9905# is what keeps automatically coming up.
Found a few places that may or may not have the correct sized buffers.

I am going to call one here in the NRV today[Outdoor is headquartered in C'burg but I work in Radford].
Hoping I can get to the Stihl dealer here today.

I did, 5 years back.
The Stihl is over 35 years old and stihl runs like a screaming demon.
It's nice having a backup when you live in the woods and your driveway winds through the woods for 3/8 mile.
Plus we heat solely with wood.

Not a Stihl cult member or fanboy,
But the 028 Super was a dandy little saw for its time.
Still is, just heavy compared to newer saws.
Considered obsolete for quite awhile with no available P&C kits, they are available now. If its been used much I’d seriously consider a peek at the piston to determine if it needs a new one before you wipe out the OEM cylinder.

Try HL supply or Saw Salvage.
SS has used parts and new. Just be aware they will give you the pre-calculated options to tip them, just like a restaurant! Blew my mind.

Sawzilla, Sawagain, lots of places to order parts.

Just gotta know where to look.

I've used a lot of proline parts, as good or better than OEM Stihl, and the best part, they're available.
