Annie was well dressed and part of Buffalo Bills Wild West show, touring the world, so no comparison of looks or dress. But Annie was an excellent shot with rifle, handgun or shotgun and her husband traveled with her and held or threw her flying targets. What she is well known for is shooting flushed wild quail, on the wing, with a 22 rifle in the head, for dinner. That is not someone you want to run across at a match for money.

Calamity got the name because she considered herself to be a sort of nurse. Whenever there were people needing help, a calamity, she was on the scene offering whatever help she could. She had a good heart, whatever she lacked in looks or morals.
