There was a small plane, a Gulfstream Aerospace 695 Jetprop Commander 1000 that went down about 5 miles from my house last night about 8:15pm that they are being awful hush-hush about. Went down in the Northern part of San Bernardino, CA just North-East of the 215 frwy. at Palm and W. Verdmont Dr., in an undeveloped area of foothills. Was raining and had trouble getting to it I guess, but by now there should have been some kind of information out. Don't know if the military still uses this type of plane, guess it seats Eleven including flight crew. There's a lot of commercial and military airfields nearby. LinkPhil

That's a whole lot of airplane for a 1500 hour pilot..even with no abnormalities. Throw in single pilot ops, adverse weather conditions, nominal pilot experience and this is the result. Sad. Flying twin engine, prop driven aircraft is often much more challenging/demanding than flying jets.
