FOR SALE: Winchester M70 Heavy Varmint 22-250. Serial G2098011. Made approx. 1994. 26” Stainless Heavy barrel (1 in 14). H&S Precision pillar bedded stock. David Tubb speed lock firing pin and spring. Recoil pad added to increase length of pull (from 13” to 14”). Comes with scope bases and spare parts listed below. I have the exact rifle but with a flutted barrel, love mine. Had a chance a couple of years ago to purchase one in .222, wish I had, oh well something to keep an eye out for.

Yup, it is a great rifle. I had picked up a 223 bolt with the thought of maybe someday converting, but never did.

Why have the 223 and 308 bolt faces ~ was this converted or original 22-250? Where located ?

Hi closed. This is the original as bought condition. Except for the Tubb firing pin, I got the extra parts from a guy that got a contract to clear out some Buildings at Winchester. I also got another Wilson 22 250 barrel and a 308 national match barrel from him. I tried both of those for a while before putting the original barrel back on. I picked up the 223 bolt cause I thought I might do a 223 conversion some day but never did.

I had a like rifle until someone in here did a WTB ad for it. I’d lost my prairie dog honey hole and didn’t have much need for it anymore so I caved. I’d originally thought the accuracy was meh for a heavy barrel Varmint gun until I tried a Hornady Vmax loading. With the ammo it liked it was a one ragged hole shooter.

This one seemed to like nozlers and bergers

Beer, you got a Winchester that was brought back with control round feed (CRF) in early 90's.....they are a fine rifle and shoots lights out all that I have seen. As
BSA has posted, seems cheap sell to me.

Been around these in 222, 220 Swift, 22-250 and 243. All shooters.
